I’ll blame the creativity.
That put my mind into captivity
In my naivety,
I relished the relative festivity.
I ran with productivity
Until I could see the activity
Was done and lay before me.
I’m elated
I created
And inflated this idea that I now heft.
But because I didn’t wait,
It got so late;
Just two hours sleep left.
If you’re like me and you like sleep
Then you’ll see my dilemma:
Pull an all nighter?
Or wake with a head that feels hammered?
To shower for a clean,
Throw on some jeans and to the coffee for caffeine.
Fatigue will be divine, supine…
But the crash will be obscene.
Eyelids tower like flowers
And you get super powers
When you beat the mob,
Survived the job on no sleep for
40 hours.
Ears turn all sounds into pounds
That shake the ground and make you start.
Eyes see movement as a satan-sent
Spider or ant to tear you apart.
But beat the confusions and allusions of invisible orators
And you’ll get the power to forget everything, two minutes later.
I’ll blame the creativity.
It put mind into captivity
In my naivety, I relished the relative festivity…
